CURTAIN MEASURING GUIDE

1. Measuring Width:

Always measure the size of your curtain’s track/pole, and not the window’s width.

For Poles with finials, measure the distance between the 2 finials

For Track with overlaps, add the width of the overlap to the overall track width.

If you’re fitting a new Pole/Track, make sure it covers an extra 10cm on each side of the window to ensure no lights are sipping in.

2. Measuring Height:

Decide firstly where do you want your curtain to finish, for floor height, measure the total height minus 1 or 2 cm.

Other measurements are 1 or 2cm above the sills, 15 cm below the sill, or even 2.5 to 15cm extra of the total height for the romantic look and feel.

For Eyelet and Tabtop:

Measure from the top of the pole to your desired height;

You might want to measure both side of the drop as it’s quite a common thing where the construction of your windows or floor are not even.

Take the longer of the 2 measurement in this case.

For Pinch Pleat and Pencil pleat:

Measure from the heading’s eye (where the curtains hooks) to your desired height.

Again, measure both side of the drops and take the longer of the 2 measurements.
